Parenting is like the stock market. You invest a lot with very little return sometimes. When you do hit, however, you hit big with greater returns that you'd hoped for.--Mamma

A Day in the Life of Busy Little Leenawinsky

I've hastily uploaded some photos of our sweet child because she's had such a busy, little day so far. The first slide show is her and Daddy playing in her Princess tunnel, which Santa so graciously brought her. It's so wonderful having a husband that not only plays with his child, but enjoys doing so. I thank God every day that he's now in a job that allows him more family time, less stress and such an improved quality of life. He had to leave a career that he'd invested many, many years in to do so, but it's been soooooooooooo worth it thus far. He is now with a company that respects him and values his time both on and off the job. WOO HOO for us!!

I've also done a quick slide show of Miss Pumpkin's busy, busy day's. We often tell her she's "busy, busy, busy" much like the Magician tells Frosty the Snowman because she hits the ground running each morning and only stops for the occaisional drink, poop or sleep time. If it can be opened, gotten into, explored, navigated, climbed upon, tasted, touched or otherwise comes across her path, she's into it. Nothing is off limits! As the photo's will show, when she couldn't reach my desk on her own, she used my laundry basket as a step stool. When she didn't think I was feeding her banana fast enough, she took it off the table and fed herself. And, when I (so very foolishly) took two minutes to download photos leaving her to her own devices this morning, she chose to unload some potting soil onto the dining room rug! She, of course sees no harm in her doings. And, in most cases, nor to we. In fact, you'll note that I actually stood by and photographed her putting a few handfulls of soil on my expensive rug, in order to capture the shot. Parental Line of Duty, I say. Disagree? Too bad. Parenthood is war and I'm on the front lines trying to get my shots!!! LOL!!!

This child is curiosity on overdrive and I don't think it's just the forthcoming "terrible two's," either. I think we've just got an Einstein of imagination before us and we're going to (literally) have to batton down EVERY hatch, nook, cranny, object, etc. that we can see her getting in to.

Oh well, it makes for great pictures, if nothing else!!! And, let's not forget the leverage a great picture has when she's 16 and bringing boys home!!! Who get's the final laugh then???
