May Is Looking Like a Beautiful Month/We May Be in Labor
The month of may is turning out to be one of the best I've had in a while. As we said in our last post, things are moving well in the adoption process and they've finally gotten into the month of November. Now, with only 17 referral days to go, early rumors are that the next batch of referrals from China will be through the 16th. Some go so far as to say they may go through the 21st (a miracle of burning bush proportions, needless to say). Either way, we're getting to the point of early labor it seems. Praise God!
Our newest slide show is of a trip Lee and me took this past week to Myrtle Beach. His Uncle and Aunt have a condo (more like a huge townhouse) and they let us borrow it for a week and then we darted down to the beach and spent the weekend at a hotel. The trip included a get-together with my best friend Teresa and her son Rob, who came in from Ohio. Needless to say, the trip was highly enjoyable for all parties. Teresa and I hadn't seen each other since our wedding reception and this was just marvelous. I think I laughed more in the past ten days than I have since Lee brought me to the confederate south. How remarkable that two buddies since sixth grade can still bring such joy and light to one another? How blessed am I?
Our trip included beach time, great meals out and a dinner show at the Dixie Stampede where Lee had to adjust to the meal being eaten with his hands (no silverware is provided). Once he realized that was the "MO" for the program, he joined right in and had a blast. The other highlight of the trip for him (aside from being away from the office) was that we were present for the opening weekend of Myrtle Beach Bike Week. Lee got to smoke his pipe, have Pina Colada and listen to the rolling thunder of bike after bike after bike after bike....you get the point. As much as I love them, too, at 2 in the morning the rolling thunder is a rolling headache! But, the neat thing is that I spoke with three couples who came all the way from Scotland to enjoy the festivities. Who'd of thunk it?
So, now we're back home, gluing ourselves to the Rumor Queen site for the latest news and hoping that the next two weeks will tell us if our water has broken or if we're just in false labor. Time we'll tell if all the indigestion I've been having is my dark haired angel trying to talk to me. She's already reaching out to Aunt Kelly who dreamt that we adopted twin girls (yikes). So, she's reaching out to us the only way she can and soon enough, we'll be able to actually touch her sweet little self.
