I'm in between domestic projects so I thought I'd check out the poll results and was surprised to see that 22% of voters feel we will get our referral in June or July (reading our blog posts, ha?) and 33% of our readers think the baby will be born in August or December. Personally, I think we're holding out for the December birthday based on current trends. Of course, it comes down to how old she is when we get her, so it could go anywhere at this point.
I've got a projected schedule of dates as to when we'll get our referral and I've planned out what the relevance would be to family birthdays, anniversaries, etc. My projections work out wonderfully in that each milestone of the adoption process is close to or on an important family event. So, I'm curious at this point as to just what family event the final dates will fall on. My BFF Teresa is hoping the referral comes at the end of June which is in line with her son Rob's birthday and that the baby's birthday will be on December 7, her wedding anniversary. (Can you tell she's in love with this child already?) I wouldn't mind that at all. Any link or connection will be one more level of bonding for our little one, a connection of sorts to our existing world. So, bring it on. Well, just bring the baby. The real matching I'm looking forward to is the baby to us. Not asking for much, am I?
P.S. As to the picture above, this is what DH bought for the baby in MB during our recent visit. Being Bike Week, Big Daddy Pumpkin had to buy a motorcycle shirt for his "little Pumpkin." Can we say "she'll have her own Harley?"
