Babies News (of a Different Sort)
As this week begins, rumors abound that referrals will be coming any day and that they go through November 14. This would be terrific news if only that it would mean we could potentially get our referral in four (yes, 4) short weeks or 28 days or 672 hours. As always, I'm basing this all on the rumor(s) of the day and my hopes that the next few weeks/next month will continue as the past two have. Thankfully, I'm not a gambler or I'd have lost the house several times over by now.
Now, for babies news, I got to meet AND hold our newest neighbor, Adam who will be three weeks old this Thursday. He is the most beautiful little baby boy with a beautiful, full head of dark brown hair. In fact, I told his Mom that if he'd been born a girl, you could put barrette's in that hair. And his skin is so soft and he smells so good and he just cuddles into you like a baby doll in your arms. I had DH come and see him and he even held him for a little while for some practice time. I can't tell you how wonderful a sight it was. So, we are very excited and overjoyed to welcome little Adam in to our neighborhood and our hearts. Mommy and Daddy are a little exhausted, but doing well in every other way.
My first baby girl (the four-legged kind), Kaden Sage, will be four (4) years old July 5. I cannot believe it. Heaven knows there were many days when I didn't think either one of us would have made it this long together. She's a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and, true to her breeding, she can be very stubborn and headstrong. This doesn't even begin to address her finicky stomach which gives us issues about every three months. Oh well, we love her anyway, all 85 pounds of her hairy, shedding little self. We'll have the annual doggy birthday cake to celebrate the big event.
Also celebrating a birthday, today in fact (7/2) is my youngest nephew who turns 15. Wow! Talk about tick-tock whirling right on past you! I can remember when he was born and what a beautiful baby he was. Now he's almost old enough to drive. He is currently the youngest grandchild on my side of the family. We know that this is about to change, but we need not burst his bubble just yet!
My father will celebrate his birthday in a few days, too (7/11). I don't know for sure how old he's going to be, I would get it's about 78-79. But, don't put any money on it as I'm just not good with dates. If I don't put a date in my computer, it's G-O-N-E. I can only hope to remember my daughter's birthdays or else there will be a huge debt due to guilty gifts.
So, for all the babies that have come and are yet to come, happy birth-days. With any luck and a lot of good prayers, we'll have a new one to celebrate really soon.
Until next time....
