Great Grandmother's Bible: A Gift from Cousin Linda

I don't want to belabor the party news, but I have just one more entry to make relative to that event. My cousin Linda presented me with a gift at the party; the small Bible at left which belonged to my Great Grandmother, Mary. I am the family sentimentalist (if this is a word), meaning I'm the one that loves all things historical where my family is concerned. This is one of the greatest joys of my adoption, that I now have someone to pass our things down to. At any rate, this little Bible is listed as The Authorized King James version of 1611 and there is a small notation in the Book of Revelation, 7:17, where my Grandmother wrote "3/3/48."
This latest keepsake that I have been given will most definitely be handed down to our daughter, and I plan on using it for her baptism. (Yes, that's right, I am planning her baptism already. So I'm an ADVANCED planner, sue me!) To know that my Great Grandmother prayed with this Bible, that is gave her comfort and solace....how remarkable that I now have it for my baby. It will be so fantastic to tell her that her hands are now touching the same book that four generations of women before her held, as well. Wonderful, indeed.
