The Surprise Party Was a Big Hit!

The surprise 50th Anniversary party for Dad and Mom was a huge hit and went off with out any problems. We had a few minor bumps (like no air conditioning), but no major stumbles. My entire family was in attendance (a rare thing) and we had about 140 guests total. We had my parents original wedding clothes on display and a movie of their fifty years together for guest to enjoy. My folks had a great time being the bells of the ball and getting to visit with friends and neighbors and family who they hadn't seen in many, many years.

Dad and Mom were completely surprised by the party (thankfully) and I can honestly say we're once again on the "favored status" list! Both Dad and Mom said they had a great time and were very grateful for their party. Brother Elvin took care of most of the arranging and DH and me handled food and favors. All of my nieces and nephews made me so proud because they helped us decorate and mingled with guests and helped keep food and drinks refreshed throughout the afternoon. It was just a wonderful experience for my parents and my siblings and I.

I've put a slide show of some of the party photos below this post and will hopefully get some video footage on this week. (We have a new camera which means new software to learn and new headaches to be suffered through.)

In short, the party was a smashing success with a wonderful time enjoyed by all those who attended. Now to the next big event....baby Zimmerman's arrival!!
