Happy 1st Birthday, Leena

Happy 1st Birthday to our sweet baby girl! I am so very happy that she has reached this milestone, yet saddened that we are not together for the celebration. I hope that she can feel our love and warm wishes in her corner of the world and know that Daddy and Mommy wish her a long and healthy life (with us) and that all her wishes come true. I am hoping that not too many more days will pass until we can be together as a family and this sweet, precious gift can be wrapped in our arms and blanketed by our love and adoration. God bless and keep you, sweet daughter and have a VERY HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!

Year of the Dog

11/27/08: First Poo on Potty (w/Nana)
11/24/08: Said "I Love You, Mamma"
11/20/08: Began Potty Training
5/16/08: First bloody lip from slipping in bathtub.
5/11/08: Spelled the word "baby." Knows A, B, C, G, M, O, U, X, Y and Z. Jumped for first time on her own.
5/8/08: Can identify square, triangle, circle and octagon.
5/4/08: Can count to five and knows A, B, and C.
4/27/08: Saw first ballet; "Cinderella" at Whitacker Center in Harrisburg.
4/26/08: Peed in potty first time. Started making more sentences.
4/19/08: Got ears pierced and got second hair cut at Regis.
4/13/08: Laid in the tub on her back for first time.
4/12/08: Got first tricycle from Nana.
3/19/08: Pooped on the potty.
3/1/08: Played pretend with Nana; putting lotion on her.
2/24/08: "Palmed" a ball.
2/22/08: First time asked for specific food; a banana.
2/18/08: Can use pockets (Diana's jeans). Did first summersault by herself.
2/14/08: Knows colors blue, pink and purple.
2/8/08: Started saying "I love you."
1/28/08: First sentence: "Hi, Dad-dah."
1/21/08: Started running and learning to feed yourself.
1/15/08: Peed in bathtub!!
1/8/08: 16 mos.; 34 inches; 29.5 pounds
11/25/07: Started saying "Mamma." (WOO HOO!!!)
11/22/07: Met Aunt Kell-wee and Uncle Boo for first time.
11/18/07: Attended first church service, fell at got first 'goose-egg.'
11/3/07: Learned "shhhhhh."
11/1/07: 2 new teeth coming in; numbers 11,12
10/31/07: 1st Halloween at Stoners; loved it; went as a Pumpkin.
10/27/07: Learned to shake head "no."
10/26/07: Met Pappy Z. for first time.
10/25/07: Met Aunt Kim and Gramma Dee for first time.
10/24/07: Met Gram and Pap I. for first time.
10/22/07: Moved to PA!!!!
10/20/07: Learned to wink.
10/18/07: Started walking on your own.
10/15/07: Learned to give kisses.
10/2/07: 14 mos.; 32.5 inches tall; 26.6 pounds
9/28/07: Meet Cousin Diane for first time.
9/28/07: 13 mos.; 26.12 pounds
9/27/07: We are home with baby.
9/17/07: Yasleena Arrives

Until Forever

This morning in China a mother cries
She’ll never forget her daughter’s eyes
Her heart is broken and filled with pain
The tears run down like the falling rain.

She has no choice but to leave her there
The cost of keeping is too much to bear
She hopes her daughter will one day know
True love can be found in letting her go.

This morning in China a baby cries
Hungry and scared as tears fill her eyes
Her mother has left her in this public place
Another lost daughter of the Chinese race.

Someone passing by has heard her soft moan
She’s soon quickly taken to a foster home
It’s here she’ll reside in the care of another
Until she’s adopted by a brand new mother.

That very same moment, in the U.S.A.
A woman cries as she starts to pray
Her heart is heavy but filled with much love
She prays for a daughter she thinks the world of.

“Dear Jesus I ask that your arms would be
Wrapped tightly around the one picked for me
Guard her in China ‘till I make my way
And then in my arms forever she’ll stay.”
