Parenting is like the stock market. You invest a lot with very little return sometimes. When you do hit, however, you hit big with greater returns that you'd hoped for.--Mamma

Leena, We're Coming to Get You!

Finally, we got our travel itineraries today and we will be en route to get Leena. With any luck at all, we should have her in our arms by Monday. I cannot fathom this fact alone. It seems utterly unimaginable that it could even be a possibility.
Our route will take us from our home to Washington, DC to Beijing to Chonqing and then to Guanzhou. (At least I think that is correct. Right now I'm lucky I know my name.) As of right now, we will get to see the Great Wall and some other sites which I also find thrilling.
DH is crazy tyring to get his site to run without him for a while and I'm manic trying to make sure we have everything and that the house is clean and ready for our return trip. tonight, for example, I scrubbed our stove top. This is important, after all, because I'm sure Leena will need to see that her Mother keeps a clean stove. Those first impressions can be very important, don't you know!!!
It's been a particularly crazy few days with the week beginning with the news of no travel this week, or possibly until November, to 12 hours later being told that we were traveling, probably on Friday, but no travel plans will be sent until about 18 hours before departure. Talk about flying by the seat of your pants! I'm going to have to take stock in Maalox or Tums to get any kind of financial reimbursement for the amount of product I've ingested over the past few days.
All I can say is so much for resting before the baby comes!!! Thanks to all my dear friends and family who have been supportive of this journey of a million emotions, not to mention the adoptive community who so easily lends an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on.
We will try and post while in China. If we cannot, we'll send news from here as soon as we're able (and have enough of a clue to remember how to use the computer).
