Family Day Celebration

DH and I just got home from a lovely day of shopping (showing DH where everything is) and taking Pumpkin out to dinner for Family Day. We're a few days behind, and she wasn't that thrilled about the whole thing to be honest. It was a beautiful fall day and Daddy and Mamma had a terrific time. Mamma even got herself some new jeans in her old size (one size back from where she has been recently). This in and of itself is STELLAR!

Pumpkin got herself a new (used) airplane today at a consignment sale that she and I attended. Mamma was looking for some ballet outfits and found three plus a princess dress and an airplane for $16.50. Yea! We found some shoes this afternoon at Target and now we're all set for "dancing school." I wasn't sure she's stick with it as she cried at the first session. Thankfully, week two was different. She enjoyed dancing with Miss Kelly and the other kids, so we now have the outfits for the rest of the year. (Can't wait for the pictures!)

Daddy is upstairs sleeping, I think with Pumpkin on her pill-wo probably not too far behind. As I said, we had a big shopping day with a lot of walking. Daddy and Mamma even treated themselves to new silverware in honor of our upcoming 5th anniversary (per tradition).

When we got home, we quickly unloaded the car and walked Miss P. up to the park in our development. She climbed a rock wall like a gazelle and can just about do the monkey bars by herself. I'm busily searching gymnastics classes for her because I do believe she had a knack for this. Pumpkin is quick on her feet, strong and fearless. She also does this thing with her pinkie toe where she'll splay it away from her other toes to anchor her feet for balance....very interesting. But, we like to think it's inherently there for balance beam tricks. (Crazy? Who knows?)

Well, the Pumpkin Family is one step closer to wrapping up two beautiful years with our baby girl. (Tomorrow we present this year's gift; to be decided after she goes to bed.) It's to be another beautiful fall day tomorrow, so it will make the celebration that much sweeter.

Happy fall, everyone!
